After two three days break due to rains, defending champion RCF today met BSF in round V encounter of 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League 2014-2015 in its home stadium at Kapurthala. BSF played out a constructive game today and dominated the proceeding of the game right form start till end of both halves. BSF skipper PH Boy Singh is the key figure of today’s match as he came out with winner goal of the game in 90th minute of the game when he produced a brilliant goal for BSF and earned full points in the dying minutes of the game. Lurking RCF team combined well on three-four occasion in both halves, but poor finishes upfront let them down.
In another math of the day, Punjab Police brigade came out with an emphatic win over arch rival PSPCL in their away game, which was held in PSPCL Sports Complex, Hoshiarpur. In the very 2nd minute Kuldeep Singh Jsy No.16 scored home first goal of the game when he took free kick. In form Punjab Police combined well and started initiating creative moves in PSPCL danger zone, but PSPCL defense nullified all their moves for about half an hour. However, 33rd minute saw Harpreet Singh Jsy No.22 scoring equalizer for Punjab Police. Both teams went for interval with score line 1-1 in their favour.
Punjab Police entered the field with zeal and made superb early moves resulting which 47th minute saw Punjab Police defender Sarabjit Jsy No.5 scoring second goal for Punjab Police whereby he gave lead to his team. Ten minute later, Harjinder Singh gave a well measured pass to Pawandeep who came in line and with his super header brought home 3rd goal for Punjab Police to seal this win for league leader in 57th min. of the game. With this win Punjab Police has accumulated 10 minute and top the league table.
JCT takes on Dalbir FA tomorrow the 8th September, 2014 at Kahna Dhesian (Jalandhar) where a stage is all set to launch Grassroots League by Youth Football & Kabadi Club, in close association with Punjab Football Association. The management of JCT Limited, Phagwara has been kind enough to give adequate quantity of footballs for this Grassroots Development Centre.
