Taranjit's Hatrick guides United Punjab's first victory over arch rival PSPCL in round VI match of ongoing 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League which was held at Mahilpur Ground. United Punjab players having suffered blow from the hands of JCT in their last game when they suffered defeat with 2-0 margin. United Punjab showed their supremacy over arch rival PSPCL in today's game. UPFC sharp shooter Taranjit was looking so aggressive today and made continuous effective moves resulting with he was able to open account of home team in 21st minute when he netted home first goal of the game. Parveen Kumar who has combined well with Taranjit in effective moves from this professional outfit scored second goal in 32nd Minute. Lurking PSPCL came into act to nulify certain effective moves from UPFC team. Till half time the score line was 2-0 in favour of UPFC.
After interval time the real magic of game came which saw both teams scoring couple of goals. Taranjit Singh completed his hatrick by scoring twice in 60th min & 80th minute, whereas, Paramjit also scored a goal for home team in 62nd minute of the game. The visitor team has also not wasted the scoring opportunity. Gurpreet Singh scored two goals in 75th & 88th minute whereas Sunil Kumar has scored for visitor team in 79th minute. Sikandar Kumar from PSPCL was the guilty party of the match and he was expelled by match referee in 80th minute. Sikandar will be missing next match for his team. Thus UPFC team sealed the match with 5-3 final score.
The another match of the day was played between Punjab Police and RCF which was held at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, Ropar under the aiges of DFA Ropar and it was dedicated to "Youth Development". It was evenly contested match which ended in 2-2 draw between defending champion RCF and last year's Runners-up team Punjab Police. Jagtar Singh Jsy No.7 scored first goal of the match for RCF in 23rd minute, whereas Jaswinder Singh equalized it for Punjab Police in 39th minute. Both teams went for interval with 1-1 scoreline. After half-time, both teams entered the field with zeal and showed strategic plans in their moves. Substitute Ranjit Singh Jsy No. 31 of Punjab Police scored in 48th minute to give lead to Punjab Police. After taking lead in the early minutes of second half, Punjab Police combined well and initiated effective moves in the danger zone of RCF, but poor finishes upfront by Pawandeep, Harjinder and Ranjit could not produce better result for Punjab Police. As the match progressed towards changing end, RCF made certain substitutions which just clicked for them and they were able to score equalizer of the game in 85th minute when Pankaj Sura takes long range shot which deflected with Punjab Police defender and directly enters the goal post. In the dying minutes both teams came close to score, but safe hands Punjab Police Skipper Paramjit and RCF Skipper Mukhwinderjit nullified the moves of other sides and result remain 2-2 in tact and final whistle was blown by match referee.
CRPF takes on in form JCT Academy at its tomorrow home encounter in CRPF Football Ground, Jalandhar, whereas BSF will meet Dalbir Football Academy in their home ground at Jalandhar.
