Punjab Police met professional outfit United Punjab FC at PAP Football Ground in Round VII match of the ongoing 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League 2014-2015, and this match has ended in a goal less draw. Punjab Police was better of two teams and made numerous effective moves, but the UPFC defense nullified all their moves in both the halves and both teams have to content with one point each at the end of match. With this draw Punjab Police continue to retain number one position on league table.
In another match of the day BSF defeated CRPF 1-0 when it played in Olympian Jarnail Stadium, Garhshankar in Hoshiarpur District. BSF dominated the proceedings right from start of the match. In the very 2nd minute of the game BSF came close to score opener of the game but in form striker of BSF Pawan Kumar Tiwari missed this golden scoring opportunity in front of open goal mouth. in 4th minute of the game N. Henery supplied a thorough ball to Sarabjit whose header also missed to slot home first goal of the game. Thereafter, CRPF showed some supermacy in their moves through Johan Lal, Sugesh M and Inderjeet and in 14th minute of the game Inderjeet missed scoring chance when he was supplied well measured pass by Sugesh M. 17th minute of the game saw N.Henary missed a clear cut scoring opportunity when he received a well measured pass from his team mate. BSF continued to dominate the proceedings and in 18th minute S.Das supplied a thorough ball to Hopna Hansda who takes back bolly to score opener of the game, but the safe hands of CRPF custodian denied this superb move of BSF. Both teams went for interval time with 0-0 score line.
After interval time, both teams entered the field with zeal and showed super footballing in their moves. 62nd minute of the game saw Sarbjit takes superb shot from near left flag which T.R.Srinivasan softly guided towards goal post of CRPF and BSF succeeded to take lead. Thereafter both teams started contesting the match hotly, but BSF could manage their lead of one goal till end of match. Ravinder Jsy No.9 of CRPF was shown double yellow for his unsporting behaviour in the game and in 88th minute he was given marching order by the match referee, thus he shall be missing next game of his team.
In view of the pre-engagement of Guru Gobind Singh Stadium for BSNL Football League, Match Sr. No.27 between PSPCL and Dalbir Football Academy which is scheduled to be held on 13th September, 2014 and March Sr. No.28 between RCF and JCT scheduled to be held on 14th September, 2014 have been shifted to JCT Sports Complex, Chohal.
