League leader Punjab Police prevailed upon CRPF to win the last game of first phase, in round IV postponed game which was held at War Heroes Stadium, Sangrur. District Football Association, Sangrur in close association with District Sports Officer, Sangrur organised this match in memories of freedom fighters and war heroes who have scarified their lives in service of nation at various wars. This early debacle made CRPF so desperate and it started making their combined moves in search of equalizer and result came their way for a moment when Anoop Jsy No.2 scored equalizer of the game in 45th minute and both teams went for interval with one goal each in their favour.
After lemon break, Punjab Police started the proceedings with domination over CRPF and 47th minute of the game saw Jaswinder scoring second goal for his team and Punjab Police again surge ahead in the game. CRPF’s hero Sugesh M was missing his companion Ravinder who was out for today’s game having double caution in last game against BSF. However game advanced with both teams attacking on each other’s den, without any harm to each other post. However, Gurtej Jsy No.11 came slotted home superb goal in 78th minute of the game and sealed the match of Punjab Police Corp. In another evenly poised game of the day between PSPCL and RCF, which was held at PSPCL Sports Complex, Hoshiarpur the defending champion RCF could hardly manage to share spoils with PSPCL and game ended in 2-2 draw. Daljit Singh Jsy No.19 scored opener in 10th minute for home team PSPCL, whereas Sunil Kumar Jsy No.5 of visitor team scored equalizer in 17th minute and till half time both teams were on equal score 1-1 in their favour. However the second half game was yet set piece of tranquility between two. Kuldeep Jsy No.13 of PSPCL also put his name on score sheet when he scored a goal in 57th minute and surge ahead his team once again, but this lead lasts only upto 63rd minute when visitor’s Amarjit Singh Jsy No.15 scored equalizer of the game and justified the super raids in opponent danger area. Thereafter both teams could only content to share points, but could not create any magic in their moves to come up as winner of the game.
