Defending Champion RCF outplayed professional outfit United Punjab Football Club 1-0 in round VIII game of 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League 2014-2015, which was held in Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar. It was a close encounter between two below table teams and both teams fought it well to grab points in this second phase match of the league. In today’s game RCF was the better of two and dominated the proceedings right from the start. RCF team combined well and lived upto the expectation of its coach Bikramjit who was confident on his team to win today’s inning. This was victory for the defending champion in this year’s league as it has five drawn games with two loss in its account. Jagtar and Gurpreet combined well upfront to make continuous raids in UPFC den, resulting which RCF surge ahead when Gurpreet took a well measured powerful free kick in 12th minute form near left flank which entered from right side of the goal-post and helpless Satvir could not make any act to save this debacle. Chandandeep was the guilty party from UPFC to handle the ball outside penalty area and referee made no hesitation to allow free kick to RCF. Thereafter for whole of the remaining first half game UPFC tried their best to score equalizer, but Parveen missed couple of scoring opportunities those came in UPFC way. Till half time the score line was 1-0 in favour of RCF.
The second half game was also equally biased game between two but RCF having slight domination over UPFC with better ball possession and having creativity in footwork, but in the whole there was no further harm to UPFC. Tomorrow Dalbir Football Academy takes on CRPF in Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar and the kick of this match would he held at 4.00 PM sharp.
